Affirmation #1..the challenge to overcome my own mind is and has always been my biggest obstacle..#3..to accept what is and stop pining for what can never be is powerful. Thank you. I will promise myself to affirm these truths in order to live a happier, contented life.

Happy New Year to you and Angel.

Affirmations 6, 7 and 13 resonate with me the most, Marc. (Of course, the other 17 are powerful too.)
2016 was not as I expected. In hindsight, I expected too much and worked too less. And my ego became bigger than Hulk’s muscles.
I’m going to learn lessons from each event in my life instead of categorizing myself as victim or victor. I will write them down to remember them. And I will do tasks which make me uncomfortable, especially the ones I felt were beneath me.
Happy New Year Angel and Marc. May you continue lighting our paths with torches. Wish me luck too 🙂

I love this post! I’m going to use it along with quotes from your book to establish my positive affirmations ritual this year.

Thank you for dropping this in my inbox this morning. I think I’m going to write my favorites on sticky notes and put them on my bathroom mirror.

Powerful reminders indeed. Thank you so much for always being there for us. This is quite educative.

I love #16, about watering my own grass when thinking the grass is greener on the other side. I often envy, or admire, rather, hahaha, other people’s lives when looking at Instagram and long for what they have. I better get watering and either take action or accept the life I have and be thankful. 😊🙏🏻
Manfred says
Thank you Marc + Angel….. Manfred from Germany.
Ich wünsche Euch alles Liebe und Gute im neuen Jahr!
Translation: I wish you all the best in the new year!

Thank you for reminding me to water my own grass.

Right off was #1. That’s where it all begins for me. Also 16 and 17. Worrying or rather feeling less then. And thinking everyone else’s lawn is much greener then mine and there for mine won’t be any greener with this way of thinking. I always try to think I am Worthy!

My love and gratitude for crossing my path…. I hope and pray to meet u both in the near future. Wishing u both and your family a healthy and peaceful new year.

Thank you so much for this encouraging post, having been told i was thick at school it took along time to shake that off,
my word for this year is “EMBRACE”, i thought it was courage but i can use them both in conjunction together, simplify my life and restart my life, i have also decided to use the phrase “Just Do It”
and not letting fear in, which has robbed me of so many things
Happy New Year
Godbless

I think “blessed, not stressed” is one I need to remember more. I AM so very blessed and when I forget that in a fit of knee-jerk stress it seems to diminish the blessings I DO have and then they don’t seem as special as they really are. I realize I am the only who can control how valuable my blessings-however small they might be-are to me. When I forget my blessings I feel incredibly wasteful! Each blessing is important and they all need to be accounted for!

I so much love all the affirmations that I cant pick one as the best. I’m gonna have to print it out and give to my colleagues in the office. Since I stumbled on your website my life has not been the same. Your write-ups give me the inner peace that everything is gonna be alright.
Thank you

How beautiful! These really resonated with my own efforts to focus on embracing every moment and learning from difficult experiences rather than resisting them this year. These will serve as very helpful reminders for me, thank you 🙂

Thanks Marc and Angel for helping to push me to do better. I’d like to make changes in myself and by reading you for the last several months, I am starting to see me in a different light.
I still have a long road to go but am feeling I’m the right track!

Mine are 9, 10, 13 and 14 and all the others. I do need to reframe my thoughts and train my brain. Hopefully it is not too weak to be transformed back into shape.
Thanks for posting such positive information to help those of us who need a gentle reminder to keep working on ourselves. Happy New Year to you Mark and to Angel.
Sindy says
Hi M&A,
This message was great and very appropriate for the new year, thank you. Thinking positively often does bring huge rewards however I feel compelled to add something based on my own experience.
I am reminded of the relationship between my parents when we were growing up and a lesson I learned early in life. My mother taught us the importance of parents sticking together and showing solidarity. She never let us speak know when she disagreed with my dad and would not allow us to speak ill of him for any reason. The lesson here was about standing up for each other whatever the other person was going through and whether or not they were right or wrong.
Have you ever been in a situation where you were being accused of something (whether true or not) but before things blew out of proportion, someone in authority stepped in and immediately defended you thereby diffusing the situation? You might have been reprimanded afterward but in private.
Seeking someone’s development is always good but when faced with the reality involving those with ulterior motives seeking ammunition, sometimes a different tact is needed.
What do you think?

#15 – Self-care and self-love are so important yet many of us take this for granted. It is true that we cannot help others if we are not in the right place. Making a habit to care for the mind, body, and soul is so important for a person’s well-being that it should be taught in schools from a young age. Education system should be reevaluated and redefine success, but that’s a whole other topic.
Great article as always!

Everything on the affirmation lists resonates with me at this very moment. They’re all I needed to read and be reminded of. My greatest enemy is fighting the naysayers that my own mind constantly and randomly produces. With that being said, I really am working my hardest to win the battles within me and what little battles I may have overcome here and there, I owe it to you Marc & Angel as well. I thank God for allowing me to somehow cross your blog site since last year of Feb. My faith in God and your words of wisdom and kindness for putting up such work in helping people through you guys blog is life changing and it’s for sure what’s keeping me going also. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Much love from me and my family & HAPPY NEW YEAR Marc & Angel and to your entire family!<3

Happy New Year Marc and Angel!
Thank you for all your emails. I am so grateful I came across your site. Your emails have caused me to look at life differently and has certainly helped and brightened my bad days. Keep on doing what your are doing you are helping so many people and feel you are both very blessed.
I particularly, liked this article/email. Points 3,4 and 16 resonated with me for where I am at the moment. All of the affirmations are helpful. I will refer to them often as they are all powerful reminders.
Thanks.

Your emails have helped me to be grateful for the life that I have. I recently went through a very difficult life changing event and my entire world turned upside down. I thought I had the perfect life and one day it just ended. One of my co-workers sent me one of your emails and from that day on I have looked forward to each and every one I have received. Each email makes me think about my life and how grateful I am for the life that I do have. I read each word you both write and I cannot believe how knowledgeable you both are in helping others learn to live their lives to the fullest. I am VERY grateful for you both – you have helped me through a difficult time and every day I read and practice the steps that you write to live a more fulfilling life. Thank you from my heart. Here’s to a wonderful 2017 !

I will use 6 and 7 in 2017. 2016 was a year of turmoil, my husband of 46 years and I were in the process of selling our CA house to move to Santa Fe, NM when on July 25 he suddenly and unexpectedly died. My life has changed forever, now as a 73 year old woman I will have to make a new life for myself. Life goes on even when is inequitable.

Sadly but true…I’m useless. No talents. 42years old. I’ve never known what to do (work-wise). I cried so much when I was 16, asking for help from “above”. Enlightenment never came. Carrer/psychological tests tried…never pointed a direction…Loved your book, and specially the short love stories. I wish I found a good man to help too, like in those stories. I guess I don’t deserve it either. Sorry…Venting over. 🙂

“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions. It’s about not letting my fear decide my future.”
Thank you!

I appreciate this read, as it reminds me the importance, AND NEED, for me to exercise gratitude and share positive affirmations on a daily basis. It’s far too easy to become stuck and wallow in the negatives…….when we are surrounded by so many beautiful people and opportunities. I will be that person that lives and promotes the importance of positive thoughts and sharing the goodness that it brings. Thanks for the opportunity to reflect on this topic. Have a glorious day!
Terrance says
I thought your ability to articulate these affirmations were great! I read this yesterday to my class and as we went along I just kept thinking how realistic, meaningful, and useful the affirmations can be for not only my students who are going off to college (I teach at a rural school) and entering a brand new world. But also for me a married man with 3 small children. 3,4,5, 13, 16 really just stick out to me and I know I will put into daily practice in my life.

Hello, Marc and Angel…
**DISCLAIMER** I’ve been reading your blogs for quite some time now but this is the first time I am actually leaving a comment, so please bear with me. Thank you!
I would say #16- “If the grass looks greener on the other side, it’s just life’s way of reminding me to water the grass I’m standing on” resonates the most with me.
I always seem to be seeking something bigger or better for my life “somewhere out there” when in actuality, to ask for any additional blessings would be grossly selfish!. I have a committed amazing husband who has NEVER left my side since we met on October 9, 1998. To tell you that he treats me like a queen would be very much of an understatement! Michael (my husband) has supported me through some very dark times where, tbh, I don’t know if I would have survived without him. I have 3 great children (one in heaven and 2 boys 18 & 16) and a step-daughter who is so amazingly beautiful and gifted at the young age of 21!!! We are financially stable and able to give back to our community as well! Yet for some reason my brain wonders if there is something more for me where the grass appears to be a bit greener.
So, I will definitely be focusing on watering the grass I’m standing on now because I know without a doubt that no matter how great the grass may appear to be on the other side, I know it could never be greater than my own. God Bless.. ~ Cher

Happy new year Marc and Angel. I’m from Egypt. I found your blog about three years ago. Your articles changed my thoughts in a very positive way. Numbers 4, 6, 7, 9 and 20 resonate with me the most. All your affirmations grounded me to powerful truths and I will affirm these truths in order to live better life in a new year. GOD BLESS YOU.
THANK YOU A LOT.

This was honestly what I needed to hear. Your words have inspired me to focus more on the positives, and go and make something happen instead of waiting for it to just be handed to me. This article changed the way that I look at things and motivates me to better myslef. Thank you!

I worked so hard last year to check my mind and won it. I forced myself several times to do what I would not have done, if not for the victory.
Mind is stronger, especially when you have something setting you back from achieving success.
Thanks for theses wonderful 2017 affirmation. Gonna work with many.

Really great, it’s like you guys knew what i needed. Thanks so much for these affirmations.
Jessica says
Life is difficult, but just as #1 affirmations said you can train your mind just like any other muscle in your body. If you choose do so you will have the ability get over any obstacle you might find being thrown your way. As difficult as it may be to train your mind, especially in moments and situations that really test your patience, it will pay off in the long run. I have incorporated many of these philosiphoies into my everyday life. Although it is still a work in progress, I have been seeing more of those “incredible highs” and working more effectively to get through those “stressful lows.” It comes down to being conscious of the decision you make in your life. You can choose how to respond to certain situations, accept whatever obstacles come your way, remember that you are blessed, overcome negativity, be in the moment, get back up after being knocked down, be strong, patient, and kind, make youself better by being in charge of your own life, and just embracing all of life’s experiences. Although I have been trying to incorporate all of these points into my life and never knew how to put them into words. I honestly couldn’t have said it better myself. What a great article!
Irene says
I am very grateful, but still need to water my grass some more.

It’s like you guys knew what I needed to hear! Although I try and want to use these in my life, sometimes it is hard. When I have a bad day it’s hard to pull myself out of that slump. After reading this, it gave me more confidence and motivation to really focus on using these in my life.
