Marc and Angel Chernoff are New York Times bestselling authors, professional coaches, full-time students of life, admirers of the human spirit, and have been recognized by Forbes as having “one of the most popular personal development blogs.” Through their blog, books, courses, events, and coaching, they’ve spent the past fifteen years writing about and teaching proven strategies for finding lasting happiness, success, love, and peace.
You can learn more about their personal journey in this Today Show interview:
The goal of this blog is to give you the tools to identify and transform the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck. Currently the site contains over 900 articles on happiness, productivity, emotional intelligence, relationships, and general self-improvement, and has attracted over 200 million page views and 200 thousand subscribers since its inception in 2006.
Also, Marc and Angel’s New York Times bestselling book, Getting Back to Happy: Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Reality, and Turn Your Trials into Triumphs, is a great companion to this blog. It’s a guide to spark sustainable action—and to return to whenever needed, offline. Sharing never-before-published stories and strategies, the book shows how to harness the power of daily rituals, mindfulness, self-care, and more to shift our perspective—and our actions—in order to become our happiest and most effective selves. It’s available now at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and wherever books are sold. Watch the official trailer here:
Quick Note from Marc and Angel
Here at Marc and Angel Hack Life our goal is to help YOU think better, feel better, and live better. We do our best to fulfill this goal by writing three fresh (and hopefully insightful) personal development articles every week to give you the tools you need to thrive. We promise you will not find a regurgitation of someone else’s point of view on our site. Regardless of the topic at hand, these views are our own. And, if you watched the Today Show interview above, you know that our advice is based on hard won experience.
Whenever our readers and students come to us feeling down about a life situation they can’t control, we typically start by reinforcing reality: sometimes changing your situation isn’t possible—or simply not possible soon enough. But, you CAN always choose a mindset that moves you forward. And doing so will help you change things from the inside out, and ultimately allow you to grow beyond the struggles you can’t control at any given moment.
We learned this lesson the hard way a decade ago as we struggled to cope through the most painful season of our lives—a season that included losing two loved ones to suicide and illness, family-related betrayal, job loss, financial instability, and more. And it all happened quickly, too, back-to-back. The pain of this season knocked us down hard for a couple years straight. At times, we felt like we had zero strength left to push onward. And that’s actually why we started writing on our blog in the first place. When we were at the lowest point in our lives, we used www.marcandangel.com as a public outlet and accountability journal. We wrote about our pain, our losses, the lessons we were learning, and the actions we knew we needed to hold ourselves accountable to, if we wanted to get through it all.
As we navigated our new reality one day at a time, one blog post at a time—facing the pain and investigating it, instead of distracting ourselves from it—we stumbled across morsels of strength and wisdom that we began to collect and build on. We gradually learned how to catch ourselves in negative states of emotional turmoil, so we could overcome the emotions that had once overcome us. We literally pushed ourselves as hard as we could to take one tiny action step after another—one honest conversation, one 10-minute workout, one meditation, and then we’d write about it. It wasn’t easy, but the tiny actions were manageable, and the daily ritual of writing about them helped keep us on track.
Although it seemed like nothing was changing day to day, EVERYTHING was changing, gradually.
And the same can be true for YOU.

Wow, you guys have some rich content. I have been dealing with a new business associate this past week that is caught up in a lot of self drama and I was allowing him to suck me in. Your information has reminded me to politely step away from his association.
Good stuff. Talk soon.

Hello,
I just wanted to say thanks for writing the article “One Question You Should Ask Everyone You Meet”. I hope it is alright but I am going to have my students read it as a launching point to write their “elevator pitch”. I teach Graphic Design at Columbus College of Art & Design and my sophomores are in need of exploring what it is they want to say to people about their art…this is the perfect conversation starter. Thank you so much! Keep up the great work!

Hi M & A
I’ve read many of your articles. Very uplifting & positive. THANK YOU. So much of what you write aligns with biblical values and Christian principles. But not all. Sometimes the trials people face are of sickness and constant pain, and even death. Huge challenges confront many and no one is immune from the challenge of being human. In the midst of it all – your positive commentary is great.
