I know you’re reading this and I want you to know this video is for you. Others will be confused. They will think it’s for them. But it’s not.
This one is for YOU…
The 4 Truths (video transcript):
Reminder: We just released the Audio Book for 1,000 Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently. And we also have a limited time bundle of our eBook, audio book and bonus material on sale for a big discount. Click here to check it out!
1. You have many reasons to smile.
I want you to know that life is not always easy. Every day can be an unpredictable challenge. Some days it can be difficult just to get out of bed in the morning, to face reality and put on that smile. But I want you to know that your smile has kept Angel and I going on more days than I can count. Never forget that, even when times get tough, as they sometimes will, you are incredible, you really are.
So please smile more often. You have so many reasons to. Time and time again, our reason is you.
2. We are all in this together.
You won’t always be perfect and neither will we. Because nobody is perfect, and nobody deserves to be perfect. Everybody has issues. Nobody has it easy. You will never know exactly what we’re going through, and we will never know exactly what you’re going through. We are all fighting our own personal war.
But we are fighting through it simultaneously, together.
3. You are amazing just the way you are.
If someone discredits you and tells you that you can’t do something, keep in mind that they are speaking from within the boundaries of their own limitations. In this crazy world that’s trying to make you like everyone else, find the courage to keep being your awesome self. And when they laugh at you for being different, go ahead and laugh back at them for being the same.
4. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty darn good.
Remember, our courage doesn’t always roar aloud. Sometimes it’s the quiet voice at the end of the day whispering, “I will try again tomorrow.” So stand strong. Things turn out best for people who make the best out of the way things turn out.
And we are committed to making the best of it along with you.
The floor is yours…
1. So what did you think of the video? Is this something Marc and I should do more often? Perhaps a monthly video blog…
2. What are you struggling with right now that you would like us to cover in future videos or articles?
Please leave a comment below and let us know.
Note: We want to thank Caleb Wojcik for assisting us with the video production. If you are looking for a talented, experienced videographer to cover a big event, or if you just need videography assistance/advice, be sure to contact him.

You guys are incredible. Keep on doing what you do… please. You were made for this.

Every time I check your blog, I find inspiration.
This post is another great example of that. Thanks 😀
J.J. says
I love the video blog concept! Short, sweet and inspiring. Definitely record some more of them.
Also, I’d love it if you’d cover the process of letting go of negative relationships and past events in an upcoming video blog. And perhaps a little insight into your story – with life, the site, etc.
Sarah says
Love it – thank you! Keep it coming.
Vincent says
I personally loved the change! It’s refreshing and it’s awesome to see you guys animated. Monthly (or even bi-weekly) would be great to see. 🙂
Braja Patnaik says
I like short videos. Any thing less than 2 minutes duration. It forces you to craft your message creatively and succinctly. From the readers’ / viewers’ perspective, one can skim-over a written content quickly to get a gist, and then decide to lunge in to read in detail.
Ann says
I love your posts . They help me in maintaining my perspective especially in midst of utter chaos & confusion.
Thank you.
bleu says
You guys brighten up my days.
marvz says
I’m fairly new here. My friend referred me to your blog and I’ve had a great time reading your insights. I would like to see you cover family relationships because that’s what I’m struggling with right now.
bleu says
And about the video… I think a monthly one would be great. It helps when you can actually see the people who have such a positive influence in your life. It’s like a sense of security – “they’re real and they’re there to help me.” Monthly videos would be nice. =)
Shri Paul Sharma says
Love it!
Jawn says
It was a sweet video. Just the two of you. No agendas or selling or what have you. Just what you are offering. For me, it was authentic and it humanizes a blog when the writers speak to an audience. I don’t see this every day and I feel that its earnestness is the best part of this. To do this week in and week out would become ad tedium, but like unsuspected rises and falls in unpatterned routine, it is a delightful break.
It is the reason I think I like this blog over sooo many, that is intent and integrity are in the right place for me. You and James Altucher have my audience and then, sometimes, Tim Ferris and Seth and Leo Babauta.
Thank you.

Hi Marc and Angel,
Loved the video. I recently suffered inner ear viral induced vertigo, which has dramatically impacted what I am capable of doing at the moment. I am still sorting out my feelings about that and wrote about it today (linked above).
I really enjoy your blog and use it for personal inspiration to both accept myself today and to be be the best I am capable of, today.
Cheers,
David
DW says
Uniquely inspiring, an added dimension; an extension of your selves to your community out here. Beautiful, thank you.
Yet the read-only blogs afford more broad expression and greater detail which I would not trade away.
Caleb, great job! Artful beginning with Angel’s laugh.
My current struggle: Inadequacy.
Nistha says
You’re so cute together, Marc and Angel.
pam shadbolt says
Thank you for taking the trouble to write and record this; your inspiration keeps me sane.
Emil says
Great post and video. You definitely have to shoot more videos as that is a powerful way to influence others. You look great! Keep going!
Joanna says
I start my days with your site 🙂 and I couldn’t think of a better way to start this first week of June! Thank you (from Poland).
DG says
I loved the video, really well made and provides good variety. A monthly video blog sounds like an amazing idea!
I would be very grateful for some advice on feeling more of a sense of self-worth as this is causing much anxiety at the moment. Often it feels like others are better than me and when things go wrong it’s my fault. I guess this would link in with views on perfection too.
Time and time again, my reason to smile is YOU. Thank you so much to both of you for such a great, inspirational website.
Marcus says
You guys are awesome.
I can’t tell you what it means to be able to come back regularly to this site and see new inspiration. I can’t always take it on as much as I would like, but it gives me great solace. Every single time.
I know you’re not perfect (as you yourselves state), but you seem happy and very grounded. It gives me hope to see that people like you exist.
Thank you.
ope says
Marc and Angel ! Good work, please keep it up. You two are wonderful.

I love the video! I can feel that you are so genuine (and so incredibly inspiring)! Please let us have more! 🙂
KP says
Great effort Marc and Angel. Post more videos 😛
Igor Griffiths says
Well hello Marc and Angel, love the video and you are so right in that we have the power to choose how we see the world around us.
Despite finally coming out on the other side of a divorce and having to deal with all the chaos that this creates and still needs to be dealt with, I know things will improve if I take it one step at a time.
There is so much in our lives to smile about that allowing the negative to dominate our thoughts and appearance is a great route to a wasted life.
Andrea says
You guys are so great!
{I am a deeply committed cynic 😉 and even still your video made me smile…Where are people like you in my daily life!? Thanks!}

You make me smile often! Thank you!
Petula says
Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it. I needed to hear those words. It really lifted me up. I was feeling so down. Thanks again.
suzanne says
Video works once you give us some content to absorb. If you have a theme it’ll draw people. Make sure the theme always has a written script below, like you posted here.
I think this is a really good way to communicate for you two.
Max says
Thank you so much for creating this site. It’s been very inspiring and motivating.

Oh wow, what a great new idea! When I saw there was a video with today’s post I almost didn’t watch it (a little resistance, for some reason) and I just ploughed straight into the text/transcript. But after reading that I thought well ok, I’ll click and see what they (my favourite bloggers!) have done. And I was bowled over by what I found – so direct, so intimate, and such refreshing approach. I’ve read you guys for about 12 months now, I’ve bought your ebook and have even emailed with you – but it was wonderful and very powerful to see the two of you in the flesh, speaking such positive truths. As others have posted here, more please!! (er, with transcript too for printing out [I always keep a file copy!] and for those occasional days I really can’t click…) x
Jennifer McGrath says
Loved it – I start my day off reading your blog – the things you share make me feel better about my life everyday! I realize I’m not alone and my life has meaning. Thank you.
Arlene says
I think you both are great but really; this is only for you? =)
Keep doing what you do — it’s great and I appreciate you trying new things like this video.
Some topics to consider that would be helpful:
Transitions —
Changing relationships with children —
Dealing with world events —
Hope those are topics that might ring true for you.
Thank you for all you do.

What a wonderful treat on this rainy stormy Monday morning. I was already wearing my smile but it became even wider as I watched this video. It’s wonderful to put faces to your names. You both truly rock!
Patti says
Great job! It’s nice to see the faces behind the written content you have shared on your blog – and a BIG thank you for not trying to sell something during the video. It makes you real AND authentic inspiration. Thanks!
martin lazarow says
It would be nice to cover as much as possible about:
– The brain/behavior spectrum.
– Positive outlooks on bad times. Much needed.
– How to be realistically successful but please also for us older people (we need it more in to days world than most; but then again I don’t know your audience’s age range.)
– Things to avoid, and what not to say in all circumstances.
Then just keep on with it as it is, you guys are doing a fantastic job for us all
sharon says
Wow l love the video. You guys are the best. Keep them coming.

Wow after reading your webpage for so long it was nice to see the faces saying those words so often read on this site. It was cool catching a small glimpse of the two people behind my dose of inspiration everyday. Thank you.

Super dooper!! Loved it! Fresh, crisp, intimate and honest are the words that came into my mind as I was watching. Also enjoyed the creativity of addressing the viewer so directly. Hats off to you both and your thoughtful, inspiring approach to helping others.

I liked the ‘this is for you’ part. I thought it powerful.
I have only read the transcript. I like words. But now I will look at the video after reading these reviews.
I love your work.

Good Morning!
A sheer delight, the two of you are. The video clip of the two of you is a lovely reminder of what great friends, and lovers look like…very sweet. I often post to my FB page your insights, and you have encouraged countless others in my world and surroundings.
I send this as a heartfelt encouragement to you two, to keep up the keeping up of what your hearts are telling you to do. You do it so well.

Love this! It was really so refreshing. Made me smile! 🙂
Alyssa says
The video was a great compliment to the article. The message relayed resonates further with auditory and visual context. I too would like to see a clip on both your journey and how you’ve gotten to where you both are. Thanks for the inspiring blogs, the daily reminders of what it is to be alive and feel connected. I’ve gone through some of my own tumultous wars against self; and no matter how down I am; your daily blog always points out that little voice in my head that sees rays of hope within my own journey that sometimes gets veiled with the drama of life! Once again; thank you!
Mitch says
Thank you for your words of wisdom that I can relate to put into practice as well as fall back on. Like another comment said, I like how you do not sell me something; I just want to relate to some positives thoughts when there is so much negative out there.
The video was was very well done, nice to see real folks doing the right thing and spreading positivity.
Clinton says
Thank you for this!
Justine says

You two are a part of my daily routine of getting up early before the rest of the world does and make coffee and read your website and being inspired. I have to do this, and you speak such truth.
I am so happy I found this website and will be purchasing the book. I follow you on Facebook also. Great job guys!
Mavi says
I thought this was great! I always pictured who was behind all these great words of encouragement and inspiration. It makes a difference when you actually hear someone say it. I check this site a few times a week and especially when I’m going through tough times. It really lifts me up. I also share it with my friends. They always enjoy the words of wisdom. Thank you so much for all of this! I look forward to seeing more of these.
Tom says
